They make me feel like I'm trapped in a little box of non-creativity.
It's as though I can see the adjectives and the metaphors and the hyperboles just outside the window.
But the window is locked and instead I'm forced to use parenthetical citations and research and shit like that.
The worst part? Everything has to make sense.
I know, scary thought right?

just got back from our last football game.
we won, 38-31. it was amazing.
tied game most of the time.
pulled ahead in the last 17 seconds.
we played an awesome half time show, too.
some color guard girls twirled fire.
but somehow im really pissed off.
maybe it's because my parents joked about excluding me from my dad's birthday dinner.
i always seem to be excluded from things and they know it gets me upset.
anyway, i don't know. i'm just sick of a lot of shit.
whatever.

My marching band had a competition last night. We won Best Music and Best Percussion. We also got:

Music - Superior
Marching - Superior
General Effect - Superior
Overall - Superior

It goes Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor. So I'm really happy about that :D Also this kid Nate was sitting next to me in the stands and giving commentary on all the other bands. One band had this awful colorguard and they were doing all these lame things. Like one of their songs was Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen and the colorguard took out these huuuuge bouncy balls. Like exercise balls. And starting doing dance moves with them. And Nate goes, "I bet those are the only balls those girls will ever touch." I almost cried I laughed so hard.

For Halloween, we're playing Thriller. :D It's so awesome. It really is. And we're getting more music later. But I don't know what it is yet. I'll ask Paul. He'd know. He's on council. He knows those kinds of things.

Taylor's wake is this afternoon. And her funeral is tomorrow. I'm going to both. So is most of the people in band.

I play the clarinet in band. And there was this girl in my section, Taylor. A junior. She broke her leg so she had to sit out all the time. But she got her cast off and on Friday she was going to do half time with us.

But last night, her and her father were killed in a motorcycle accident.

Her dad and my dad were really good friends. :/

And I didn't really know her, but I wish I did. She was so incredibly nice.

I'm just.....*sigh*.....
